If the damage hasn't gone through the clear coat, it can usually be polished out. We look at every scratch individually before recommending anything.

Why it matters

A repaint almost never matches.

A repainted panel almost never matches the factory finish exactly — the texture, the depth, the way it catches light — and anyone valuing the car will spot it. Repainting for a scratch that could have been corrected costs you twice: once for the work, and again at trade-in when a mismatched panel drags the price down.

That's why we check first. If the scratch hasn't broken through the clear coat, targeted polishing brings it out without touching the factory paint at all. When it genuinely does need paint, we'll say so rather than polishing something that isn't coming out — but that's the exception, not the rule.

Unlike our other services, scratch repair genuinely depends on the damage itself — length, depth, and whether it's gone through the clear coat all change the price. We can't give you an honest range without seeing it.

What happens

How we assess it.

1. Photo review. We look at your photo before you book anything — it tells us most of what we need to know about depth and length before we're standing in front of the car.

2. Fingernail test, in person. On site, we run a fingernail across the scratch. If it catches, it's likely through the clear coat — if it doesn't, it's almost certainly polishable.

3. Targeted correction. We work the specific area with progressively finer compounds until the scratch is gone or as close to gone as the clear coat allows.

4. Blend and inspect. The repaired area is blended into the surrounding panel so there's no visible line, then checked under proper light.
